1. Waterford Festival of Food

16th – 18th April

Waterford Festival of Food is a weekend celebrating all that is good about gastronomy in Dungarvan, West Waterford. Events include cookery demos by internationally renowned chefs, crude food’ trails, seaweed seminars, children’s workshops, family picnic in the park, a farmer’s market extravaganza & much more.

2. Waterford Youth Arts Festival

20th – 22nd August

Waterford Youth Arts celebrate their 25 years in Waterford with Drama, Dance, Film, Music, Literature and other events throughout this weekend. Over twenty productions, readings, dance works, film screenings are planned.

3. Wexford Strawberry Festival

25th June – 27th June

Wexford Strawberry Festival celebrates its 43rd Year in 2010, alongside the Enniscorthy 1500 celebrations. There is free open air entertainment, the Castle museum is due to open, an annual craft fair, the all Ireland Farmers Market Competition and Wexford Strawberries and cream are sold all weekend.

 


4. Wexford Sand Sculpting Festival

13th Aug – 15th Aug

The Sand Sculpting festival kicks off on Friday night with the grand opening of professional Sand Sculptures and beach party, with live entertainment and Fireworks after dark.

5. Tipperary International Film Festival

4th -11th Sept

The International Film Festival Ireland 2010 will be held in and around Clonmel, Co. Tipperary: 4th ~ 11th September. There are entries from all over the world including South Africa, Argentina, Italy and Canada to name a few.

6. Cork Midsummer Festival

12th – 27th June

You can expect unusual things in unusual places with theatre, off-site performances, contemporary and popular music, participatory projects, mass free events, a family programme, dance, debate, ideas, visual and conceptual art.

 


7. Spraoi

July 30th – 1st Aug

Spraoi is an International Street Theatre and world music festival. Now entering into its 18th year Spraoi is a firm favourite for locals and visitors alike who throng the streets of Waterford for the three-day long street party.

8. Wicklow Gardens Festival

Easter to 30th Sept

Wicklow Gardens Festival has been running for more than 20 years now. The Festival features thirty-two beautiful and varied private gardens, each with their own unique theme and design.

 


9. The Carlsberg Cat Laughs Comedy Festival

Thurs 3rd June - Mon 7th June

The Carlsberg Cat Laughs Comedy Festival was founded in 1994 in response to the burgeoning wealth of Irish comic talent with no clear national outlet for expression. The festival has grown from a small event comprising a handful of shows to an internationally acclaimed festival which showcases the very best in Irish and international comedy acts.

 


10. Ducket's Grove Country Fair

Sunday 1st Aug

Enjoy Summer fun and entertainment in the magical setting of Duckett's Grove Historic House, Walled Gardens and Pleasure Grounds, close to Carlow Town. Features large craft and local artisan food fair, display of traditional crafts, display and plant sales area.
